Pioneering the Future of Transport
MMT
Client: Translink
Across Europe, transport providers have traditionally relied on fragmented third-party systems that limit operational flexibility, reduce customer data visibility, and deliver passenger experiences that are full of friction and complexity – discouraging customers from using public transport.
Customers face systemic barriers to public transport adoption: only 5% of multimodal trips use integrated tickets (EC, 2023), cross-border journeys require navigating multiple platforms, and 87 million Europeans with disabilities frequently encounter exclusion from transport services (EAA, 2025). Like many operators, Translink's customers experienced these industry-wide challenges firsthand.
Working closely with Translink, MMT transformed this landscape by delivering simplified cross-border and multimodal travel experiences – for every passenger, across every service. We pioneered the sector's first migration to Kentico Xperience (.NET Core), creating direct API connections with Irish Rail, BEING (Bus and Goldliner software provider), and MENTZ Journey Planner, bypassing industry-standard third-party aggregators and enabling a true breakthrough for transport operators. Translink is now leading the way with a fully self-service cross-border, multimodal integration within a single platform.
The transformation represents a novel approach to integration for transport operators: a genuinely seamless digital experience that lets passengers plan, book, amend, and manage multimodal, cross-border journeys independently, intuitively and in real-time. What previously required back-office manual intervention from customer service teams now happens instantly through intelligent self-serve digital interfaces. The results speak for themselves: seamless service accessibility for all passengers and 50% reduction in customer service interactions for booking management, saving hundreds of staff hours and dramatically improving operational efficiency.
